Fort Clinch 100 SPRING 2016
Cardiovascular Assessment
1. Cardiac measurements: testing time 5 min.
Noninvasive cardiac function. We will be performing blood pressures pre, during and post-race, to assess alterations in blood pressure.
Your blood pressure will be measured at rest and immediately after standing This will take approximately 5 minutes.
2. Pre-race 12 Lead EKG: 5 min
We are collaborating with Dr. David Oxborough at Liverpool John Moore’s University, UK to collect standard 12 Lead EKG’s of all Ultra runners . This data will go into a paper next year to address EKG changes seen in Ultra runners that would otherwise be abnormal in the non-running population.
